REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM

Who is eligible?

On December 18, Nouvelle Autoroute 30 (NA30) announced the launch of a reimbursement program for amounts that may have been overpaid since 2015. Affected customers, who currently have or previously had a transponder, have already been contacted to reimburse the amounts potentially overcharged.

Nouvelle Autoroute 30 aims to correct its management of the fees grid which states that any vehicle less than 2.30 meters must pay “Category 1” rates and any vehicle more than 2.30 meters must pay “Category 2” rates.

However, some “Category 1” vehicles equipped with a luggage rack or a transport or leisure box (such as a Thule box) may have exceeded the 2.30 meters standard and therefore paid the fee for vehicles exceeding this standard. For this reason, NA30 conducted a complete analysis of the situation from 2015 to today. It was determined that the situation affected 10,000 of the 67 million trips recorded since 2015, or approximately 0.015% of all trips. These 10,000 trips, which represent nearly $24,000 in total, were made by approximately 4,000 customers, which represents an average potential reimbursement of $6 for each of these customers.

If you believe you were affected by this overcharge because of a transport or leisure box (Thule type), bringing the total height of your vehicle to more than 2.30 meters, NA30 is asking these customers to provide some basic information to allow them to validate the situation and proceed with a refund if applicable.
