As part of its action plan in transportation electrification, the Quebec government has announced a series of measures, including allowing electric vehicles, under certain conditions, to use the Highway 30 bridge without being subjected to tolls.
Since January 1, 2016, vehicles meeting the conditions of the program are able to use the Highway 30 bridge without being subjected to the toll rate. This temporary measure, designed to encourage the electrification of transportation, still continue until April 1st, 2027.
Certain conditions apply
- Vehicles must be registered with a green plate from the Société de l’Assurance Automobile du Québec.
- Vehicles must be registered and equipped with a transponder.
How to register and benefit from the program
- Fill out the "Registration Form - Electric Vehicles Green Program"; or
- Go to the A30 Express offices (5388 Pierre-Dansereau Avenue, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield) with the vehicle registered with a green plate to receive you transponder;
- Fill out the registration form and accept the terms of use;
- Install the transponder in the vehicle.
The free toll will only begin after registration with the A30 Express.
